The American Dream

America is a nation where nothing is impossible. People from all over the world come to America with a common goal in mind: to live the American Dream. America offers for all the opportunity to prosper and succeed in life. It is stated in the Declaration of Independence itself that everybody is entitled to “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness”. Certainly, truer words could not be spoken. If you commit to a goal and work hard to accomplish your dreams, there is no doubt in my mind that you will succeed. America will make sure of that.

As long as you put forth your best effort, the country will do its own part to help you. Let’s say, for example, that your family earns a modest income and will not be able to pay for your college. Fret not, however, because there are hundreds of ways that the country can assist you. Scholarships can be tremendously helpful if you qualify for one. These are usually awarded for exemplary achievements among sports, academics, and various other categories. In addition, there are so many different scholarships that there will undoubtedly be some that are fitting for you. You can also apply for financial aid for further assistance. In order to do this, you will be required to fill out a form known as FAFSA to determine your eligibility. You can be rest assured that all the materials will be provided to attain your very own ‘American Dream’.

This is, of course, not the only way that America can help you. There are countless other ways that the country can be of service. America will not stop until you reach what you originally started out for. So when you do make it to the top, be sure to give back to the nation that made it all possible. As John F. Kennedy said, “Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country”. The American Dream is different for all individuals, but one detail should remain constant: the country should always be reciprocated for its service.
